Allergy Issues in the Mudi
There are many Mudis that have allergies to various things. This is a list of the allergies I have been informed of by owners and breeders:
- Bee/Wasp Stings
- Dust Mites
- Flea/Tick spot on products
- Foods include: chicken, wheat
- MDR1 (a sensitivity to particular drugs, caused by an inherited gene which is able to be tested for): No Mudis have tested as a carrier for MDR1 at this time that I am aware of, however the vast majority of Mudis have not been tested, which means testing for MDR1 is still important
- Medications/Drugs
- Vaccines
- Undetermined Allergy Source: The most problematic is when the Mudi has serious allergic reactions and the cause cannot be identified. This has occurred with several Mudis.
